Shattering Glass Ceilings.

Building a More Accessible, Community-Driven, and Equitable Theatre Landscape.

Conceived by Adriana Nocco and Emily J Whalen, Shatter The Glass Productions (STG) is a New York City-based production company dedicated to bridging gaps and breaking down barriers within New York City’s live performance landscape and the entertainment industry at large. We believe that art is inherently political, and has the power to catalyze meaningful change. Through engaging, impactful, and accessible productions, we strive to amplify underrepresented voices, challenge entertainment industry gatekeeping, and “shatter the glass ceilings” that have historically limited opportunities for marginalized artists.

At the heart of our mission is a commitment to access, community, and equity. We aim to cultivate an inclusive artistic community and create spaces where artists from diverse backgrounds can collaborate, share their talents, and tell their stories authentically and unapologetically.

We recognize that opportunities to create and perform can be difficult to access, particularly for artists who face systemic barriers beyond their control. By expanding opportunities for artistic expression, fostering meaningful connections within our artistic community, and championing historically underrepresented voices, we seek to help build a theatrical landscape in which more artists have the resources, platforms, and freedom to thrive.

Accessibility is central to our work. We are committed to making our productions and events as inclusive and accessible as possible, particularly for disabled artists and audiences who are too often excluded from traditional theatrical spaces. From prioritizing physically accessible venues and providing ASL interpretation to offering affordable ticket options, we strive to make accessibility an integral part of our artistic process rather than an afterthought. We are equally committed to intentionally diversifying our creative teams and audiences, working to ensure that the stories we tell and the spaces we create reflect the wide breadth of communities we aim to serve.

Our vision is to help reshape the theatrical landscape by dismantling barriers, amplifying underrepresented voices and perspectives, and cultivating a community where everyone has the opportunity to create, participate, and belong.
