Loud & With Feeling | Oct 30 - Nov 14

Loud & With Feeling, written by Spencer J. Vigil, marks Shatter The Glass Productions’ Off-Broadway producing and company management debut. Inspired by a true-to-life experience, the new musical will have six performances at AMT Theater as part of the Circle Theater Festival this fall.

The story follows a group of queer students through the first 24 hours of a sit-in protest after their beloved professor is fired, galvanizing their fight for LGBTQIA+ rights at their private Christian university.

As the night unfolds, the students confront their own personal histories while searching for belonging, connection, and a collective future. Featuring a pop-punk synth score reminiscent of works such as Rent, Fun Home, and Elizabeth Swados’ Runaways, Loud & With Feeling explores the longing to belong while celebrating the joy, triumph, and community at the heart of collective action.

The production brings together a team of trans, queer, and disabled creatives, including a cast of Deaf and hearing artists, with accessibility intentionally woven into both the creative process and the story itself. The cast includes Dickie Drew Hearts, an Obie Award-winning and Lucille Lortel-nominated Deaf actor and filmmaker whose credits include Dark Disabled Stories at The Public Theater, Tales of the City, Grace and Frankie, and High Maintenance.

The production is directed by Jules Dameron, an award-winning Deaf film and theatre director whose work has included Sesame Street’s ASL video series, the ASL music video for “Seasons of Love,” and projects with New York Deaf Theatre—where he also serves as Artistic Director—as well as Gallaudet University and Deaf Austin Theatre.
